A disk from an ice core was divided among various research groups for different analyses. The ice cores were 13.2 cm in diameter (137 cm2 in area). The dashed lines indicate saw cuts made on each piece of core, whereas the dotted lines indicate saw cuts made only on slices selected for detailed analyses.
