Note for Mac Users
Appendix 2, Making XY Graphs in Microsoft Excel, from the Second Edition is provided here as a resource for Mac users. The version of Excel featured in the Second Edition is 2003 for Windows, which has menus and commands that are very similar to Excel 2007 for Mac, and so might be more useful for Mac users.

Once you have downloaded and installed Adobe Reader on your computer, you can configure your web browser to automatically launch Adobe Reader when you click on a link to a PDF file.
Instructions for Saving the PDF Files to Your Hard Disk: Depending on the settings in your browser, the chapter PDF files listed above will either save to your hard disk or open in Acrobat reader. If the file opens within the browser using the Acrobat plug-in, you can click the Save button to save it to your hard disk. Or, you can right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac) the link and choose Save in the pop-up menu that appears. This will save it directly to your hard disk without opening it. You can then open it from your hard disk by double-clicking it.
